ABOUT INTI

WILD WEAR

We’re here to weave the dream of life into existence, so we must wake up to realize what is it that we are dreaming of.

INSPIRATION AND MOTIVATION

INTI is a dream, carved into being by a wild soul, a free spirit, a woman. It started in 2014 when, inspired by her ancestors footprints, she changed from a former carrier to follow her passion: leather craft.
Inspired by a nomadic lifestyle, her aim was to create versatile and adjustable pieces to be worn in travel and in festival, as in everyday’s life.

OUR PRINCIPLES

INTI is an eco-pragmatic brand. Being aware that we are not working with just any fabric, we honor the ancient art of leatherworking by producing long lasting, exclusive products. While being a high-end brand we invite our customers to be ethically oriented, purchasing pieces to be cherish throughout their lives.

VISION AND PURPOSE

Our vision is that leather goods are made for endurance, so acquiring it is just the beginning of a long term relationship. Your INTI piece will, most likely, change color and adapt to your body in a way that it will be your companion for years. This is our way of honoring and respecting life, 180º away from the chaos of the global supply chain.
Our purpose is to never, ever, make a dull bag! Instead we strive to inspire people to remember their truth and to always carry their belongings in a stylish way.
INTI is for the warriors, the wanderers, the risk takers and the awakened healers of Mother Earth.

ONE PIECE, MANY WAYS...

No INTI design is to be worn just one way. Messenger and bucket bags transform into backpacks, leg holsters convert into bold sling bags and kinky harnesses swing into elegance and sophistication.

CATARINA PALMA

INTI’S FOUNDER & DESIGNER

I’m a self taught leather designer born in the south of Portugal and blessed by living many lives before my intuition drove me into working with leather.

FIRST STEPS

I studied archaeology, worked as a journalist and got into traveling and photography some years after. In this quest i immersed myself in the psytrance scene and lived as a nomad for years, indulging in the wonders of festival hoping.

THE ENCOUNTER

During this journey, many possibilities crossed my way, but the encounter with leather work was the most powerful. As i started to explore this new field i felt profoundly in love by the smell, the colors, the different textures. All the creative possibilities of bags and accessories design got me hooked and it felt very much like home.
I believe it flowed so naturally for a good reason.  As i came to discover, the art of leather craft is connected with my family’s history and roots, as many of the male ancestors were leather artisans. With time I turned myself into the first woman of my lineage to pursue this art.

INTI'S BIRTH

In 2014, after traveling South America and learning a lot from the artists that i met along the way, I arrived in Portugal and INTI was created. For the two years after, I lived, travelled and worked from my vintage Mercedes Benz truck, from ’75.
With the evolution of the brand the production process was improved and new, more heavy duty, tools introduced. From working entirely by hand, piercing every needle hole with a hammer and iron stick, i started to sew by machine. This brought the development of the aesthetics, while still maintaining the slow handmade ways.
INTI evolved into a more minimal approach in style, maintaining the wild soul that characterizes it.

INTI GOES TO COLLEGE

In 2019, while pregnant of her first child, Catarina went to LONDON FASHION SCHOOL to learn about leather craft. A new world of tools and machines and possibilities was open. This was a stepping stone for the brand’s evolution
