Leather handbags made in Portugal

We’re here to weave the dream of life into existence, so we must wake up to realize what is it that we are dreaming of.

INTI is an eco-pragmatic brand. Being aware that we are not working with just any fabric, we honor the ancient art of leatherworking by producing long lasting, exclusive products.

While being a high-end brand we invite our customers to be ethically oriented, purchasing pieces to be cherish throughout their lives.

Inspired by a nomadic lifestyle, Catarina’s aim was to create versatile and adjustable pieces to be worn in travel and in festival, as in everyday’s life.

INTI is a dream, carved into being by a wild soul, a free spirit, a woman. It started in 2014 when, inspired by her ancestors footprints, she changed from a former carrier to follow her passion: leather craft.

Our vision is that leather goods are made for endurance, so acquiring it is just the beginning of a long term relationship. Your INTI piece will, most likely, change color and adapt to your body in a way that it will be your companion for years.

No INTI design is to be worn just one way. Messenger and bucket bags transform into backpacks, leg holsters convert into bold sling bags and kinky harnesses swing into elegance and sophistication.

How to clean your leather handbag

  • First thing to do is cleaning all the superficial dirt with a soft brush
  • Cover the surface with a leather cleaner and gently apply the product with the same soft brush. Let it be absorbed for 20 minutes

How to make it shine

If you desire to see your bag shining, conditioning your leather is a step you should not miss. This is the hydration part of the process, and it will keep your bag glowing for longer.

So, use a soft cloth to apply the product and use circular movements to avoid any wrinkles or imperfections to appear on your bag.

Storing your handbag

It is really important to properly store your leather goods. Leather DOES NOT LIKE to be closed inside of drawers and wardrobes. To forget your leather bag in one of these places or behind a door, is to say that when you come to remember it again it will not be the same that you left there.

Please look after it by keeping it in a dry, ventilated place where you can admire it and WEAR IT. The best advice to keep your leather rocking and the metals shinning is to wear it every so often.

How to clean your suede handbag

Try to regularly clean your suede bag. Use a suede brush to clean it, this will not only eliminate the dirt, it will also rejuvenate the suede.

Catarina Palma

Founder & Designer

INTI is a dream that became reality in 2014 when, inspired by her ancestors’ footprints, Catarina Palma changed from a former carrier in journalism to follow her passion: leather craft.

Inspired by a nomadic lifestyle, Catarina’s aim was to create adjustable pieces to be worn in travel and in festivals, as in everyday’s life. This is the reason behind the versatility in the core of the brand’s vision: no INTI design is to be worn just one way. Bucket bags become crossbody, leg holsters convert into backpacks and bumbags swing into sophistication when transforming into hand purses.

Being a self taught artisan, in 2019 was time for Catarina to pursue studies in her work field, and so she went to London Fashion School, where she studied patterning and sewing for leather. A new world of tools, machines and possibilities was open. This was a major stepping stone for the brand’s evolution. INTI evolved into a more minimal approach in style, maintaining the aesthetics and slow handmade ways.

Sofia Figueiredo

Production manager

Sofia joined the team in 2023 to assume the position of production & logistics manager.

Since her former career was being an executive chef for hotels and restaurants, starting to work in the environment of a leathercraft studio was something completely new for Sofia. Nevertheless, she accepted the challenge with the spirit of someone used to running highly stressful environments.

If you are one of our suppliers, you have already talked to her. If you are one of our customers, most likely, you have already talked to her. She is our ‘all hands in deck person’, always ready to make it work.
